Being part of a community is one way to stay mentally healthy during retirement. As kids leave the nest, spouses pass away, couples get divorced, friends move, etc., many of us may find ourselves without the communities that were previously part of our lives.
This Point Forward is a community of people with shared ideas and ideals. We view the second phase of our lives as yet another great adventure during which we can meet new people, explore new pastimes, share our talents with others and, in general, have fun in an engaged and meaningful way.
We are a new organization and are continually building our community – we would love for you to join us! On April 29th we had our first casual coffee meet-up. If you weren’t able to attend, we hope to see you at a future coffee gathering or other social event. Also, you may be interested in our next workshop entitled, “Keeping Mentally Strong in Retirement,” held on May 18th at the East Columbia Library. We will have light refreshments at 6pm and the program will run from 6:30pm – 8pm. We hope you’ll register here and join us!
