The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF) defines health equity as follows: “Health equity means that everyone has a fair and just opportunity to be as healthy as possible. This requires removing obstacles to health such as poverty, discrimination, and their consequences, including powerlessness and lack of access to good jobs with fair pay, quality education and housing, safe environments, and health care.” This Point Forward is partnering with the Horizon Foundation on health equity. We sponsored an April webinar with Dr Terris King and Lois Privor-Dumm, both equity experts, on COVID-19 Vaccinations and Equity”. This October we will be having a presentation by Wesley Queen, who will address several key pieces of health equity legislation that Maryland passed at the last General Assembly.
