Dr. Yvette Oquendo-Berruz, a renowned family physician with extensive experience in Howard County, will address health care equity issues that the Latino community is facing, particularly during the pandemic, and offer practical advice on dealing with these concerns.
Dr. Oquendo-Berruz is a Family Medicine Specialist in Columbia MD with over 38 years of experience in the medical field, which includes service in the US Army as a Medical Officer during Desert Shield and Desert Storm, for which she received Army Commendation and Achievement medals. Among her many accomplishments is the receipt of the Maryland Family Physician of the Year Award in 2002.
She served as the site Medical Director at Chase Brexton Health Care Columbia from December 2008 to April 2017 and currently is the Medical Director at CareFirst Blue Cross Blue Shield Maryland.
